Cardiac Catheterization
Floyd Memorial’s two cardiac catheterization labs feature the leading-edge flat detector C-Arm from Philips Medical Systems. This offers enhanced image quality and decreased radiation exposure to patients. The labs are devoted entirely to interventional coronary procedures including the placement of pacemakers and defibrillators, balloon angioplasty, stent placement, coronary atherectory and Polar Cath™ angioplasty. Our labs feature a special unit for pre- and post-recovery, and they are equipped to provide the most advanced, comprehensive and highly integrated care possible.
To assist with diagnosis, the Heart & Vascular Center offers a non-invasive 64-slice Cardiac CT Scan that produces three-dimensional images of the heart with virtually no risk to the patient.
For patients undergoing an outpatient procedure, the 12-bed Outpatient Cardiovascular Unit offers all private rooms for pre and post-recovery. Staffed by an expert team of cardiac nurses, the unit offers exceptional individualized care for short-stay cardiac care patients.
