Cardiac Rehabilitation Program
Continuing its comprehensive theme of excellence in specialized cardiac care, Floyd Memorial’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program has been certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). A team of dedicated health care professionals (including nurses, exercise physiologists, a dietitian, and a diabetes educator who specializes in cardiac patient rehabilitation and education) encourages patients to take an active, participatory role in their ongoing recovery from heart conditions. We offer extensive exercise programs utilizing the latest and most advanced fitness equipment. Created and monitored by trained exercise physiologists, programs are individually tailored to treat a patient’s specific needs and abilities. The Cardiac Rehab program operates on physician referral, and a patient’s progress is continually communicated to their physician. Educational programs offer information on disease processes, stress management, exercise, risk factors and heart medications. These are paired with dietary programs created by a registered dietitian. We strive to help patients manage their condition by reducing risk factors and modifying their lifestyle.
Because preventive measures are key to reducing heart disease and other medical illness and conditions, Cardiac Rehab offers a self-pay maintenance program that is similar to a fitness center. With a physician referral, participants can use the medically-supervised facility to improve their health and wellness. The rehab facility offers programmable stationary and recumbent bikes, Biodex upper body cycle ergometers, NuStep machines, Landice treadmills, True elliptical treadmills and top-of-the-line strength training equipment. We want to help all our patients reestablish and maintain an active lifestyle. For more information, please contact our Cardiac Rehab program at 812-949-7088.
